Over the years many such cards have acquired significant economic value. These days sports cards are a business and no longer an exclusive past time of of small time collectors. Large companies buy and sell sports memorabilia for profit.

I used to be a pure collector of vintage baseball cards. Vintage baseball cards are a great way to connect to the past, and make the most sound investments among baseball cards. After selling my own card collection, I started selling on eBay for other people on consignment. Collecting autographed sports cards helps us all feel like a kid again. Remember standing near the baseball field, pushing the other fans, trying to get an autograph of your favorite players? That's what this great hobby is all about. Another one of my collecting pursuits is Topps Allen and Ginter Baseball. Aside from baseball stars, the set showcases boxers, wrestlers, riflemen, rowers and billiard experts.

I started collecting about 5 years ago and what started as a casual interest very quickly turned into an obsession that I hope I'll never lose interest in.

Sports Cards News

Just came across this awesome sports cards and memorabilia news site that really rocks. This soon begs the question, "Where do I go to get my sports cards appraised?" At some point even hobby purists will succumb to the temptation of finding out the published value of their sports collection, either as a result of circumstance or curiosity.

Collectors who have been collecting cards for awhile know where to look, however it can be a bit much for the newcomer to sports card collecting or for those that typically collect other non-related items. The less experience you have, the more you need a sports card price guide.

There are many readily available options for people to use to determine fairly accurate sports card values. Price guides containing the values of virtually every card ever produced are easily available to baseball card, football card, basketball card, and hockey card collectors.. But not all guides are created equally and you have to be sure to get the one you are most confident in. Its imperative that you get a good feel for what your cards are worth before buying, selling, or trading any of your sports cards to make sure you are getting the best possible deal for your cards.

The internet makes it easier then ever to find sports card values. You can use the online price guides listed by Beckett and Tuff Stuff - the folks who produce the popular sports card price guide magazines. Each company's sports card price guide is organized a touch differently, but both sites feature pricing for virtually every sports card ever made. While Beckett's price guide is the most expensive, it is also the most respected of the price guides.
